Some friends of mine have a beautiful farm in the Chimacum Valley near Port Townsend Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. They hybridize and raise dahlias to show in competition and sell. The later part of August and the early part of September the dahlias are in full bloom. I spent many, many happy hours this last year photographing the flowers for them. It is absolutely amazing to be totally surrounded by such color and beauty.
