Many of my friends generously allow me to "harvest" flowers and plants from their gardens to bring home to "play with" in my small home photography studio. Sometimes because of the abundance in a garden, I cannot capture the individuality of a particular subject. I love to try different backgrounds and colors and vases to see what will accent the beauty of the flowers and plants. I am exploring color and line and shape rather than making a flower arrangement. Most of my compositions are too simple to be called arrangements. After I take the photographs, I add textures and other art techniques available in Photoshop and other software to enhance some of the images. I have spent many wonderful hours exploring the different possibilites for composing the image and then enhancing it in the digital darkroom.
